Jesse This release is really growing on me. A fine retro/chip/electro sounding EP with its own distinct sound. Great melodies throughout. I like Vince's written synopsis of what the EP is supposed to be about. Usually I find those little blurbs to be nonsensical, but in this case, I think he did an amazing job of accomplishing the intended mood. Favorite track: Harvest Moon.

Poon I absolutely love the direction that Vince has taken his music over the past couple of years. His music, nostalgic and moody, creates soundscapes that very few artists are able to capture. While I do enjoy his more chiptuney stuff, I think that Midsummer Days captures a more mature range of emotions. Hopscotch '97 is my favorite track, if only because I've already listened to it a hundred times on Soundcloud.

If you like this style, you should check out another one of his albums, Sunday Groove. Favorite track: Hopscotch '97.

about

School summer vacation is an amazing time, in more ways than just the beach, parties, and adventure; it's also a time of constant tension between relaxation and boredom, seclusion and isolation. This EP is about those summers spent daydreaming and self-reflecting to survive the endless quiet idle hours.

All songs except Hopscotch '97 were written and completed between the summer solstice and fall equinox of 2016.
